Blue Thimble Sewing has been operating in the Charlottesville, Virginia area since 2007. The Blue Thimble Sewing studio is located in the quaint neighborhood of Hollymead /Forest Lakes north of Charlottesville, just north of the Route 29 Rivanna river bridge and adjacent to the Kohls/Target/Harris Teeter shopping area.

About Owner-Master Seamstress Elisabeth Zillinger
Blue Thimble Sewing owner and founder, Elisabeth Zillinger has been sewing professionally for 30 years. Originally from Austria, she received a masters degree (1991) in dressmaking, fashion-clothing and tailoring. Her work experience includes numerous years with Magda Rose Jones fashion clothing designs and Erina Fashion.
In 1996 Elisabeth moved from Vienna, Austria to Bethesda, Maryland in the United States. She worked both as a professional nanny and seamstress. In 1997 she began her own sewing company, Goddesswear and for ten years provided custom original alterations, sewing and tailoring for hundreds of smiling customers in the Maryland, Northern Virginia and DC areas. In 2007 she moved with her family (pictured above Jeff & Jeremy) to Charlottesville VA and in 2008 established Blue Thimble Sewing.
